It is not recommended to be used directly on the carpet. If you have carpet flooring we advise you to place a rubber equipment mat under the treadmill.

This will help protect your carpet from getting dirty and to help protect the treadmill from overheating.

The height of these treadmill from the ground is not very high and requires air flow underneath. Carpet can also attract a lot of dust and fibre that can get inside the fan ducts underneath the treadmill. 

Another reason is that it can disrupt the weight distribution of the treadmill for the foot sensing speed control on models with Automatic mode.
